Oh my GOD, Sloane, it was SO SHIPPY. Not only do they, like, finish each other's sentences and get what the other is thinking without having to say anything, but Charlie literally says, in front of Dani, "People who work together know each other better than most married couples!" Seriously, they're going to be sharing food in like five minutes.

Hahaha, well, he goes on to say that people who work together know each other's hopes and dreams, and secrets (which he says pointedly because he's trying to get Dani to ask him about something) so she gives him a weird look and rolls her eyes. WHICH WAS PRETTY SWEET. Also, before that she had been going on at the suspect about how when you work together, you know each other really well, SO. IT WAS PRETTY TEXTUAL ON BOTH SIDES.

I'm there with you on LIFE. I came to it late, and snarfed up all of s1 in a single weekend, and now I am ON BOARD.

Right? I seriously did the exact same thing -- it's such a compelling and awesome show. I watched the first season, like, six times, haha.

Though I wish the female partner wasn't such a sour-puss. She's a cliche of the disapproving woman. It gets kind of tired.

Having only seen Lewis previously as a Forsyte, it's really fun to see him do this.

Oh, I actually really like his partner! I can see how she might come across like that, but I really enjoy how she gets annoyed with him when he's being annoying.

I know, it's such a different part than Soames! Good job, Damian.

On Tuesday finally got to the first disk of Life that Netflix sent us while we were on vacation and finished it last night. I've kept patiently explaining to my husband that whenever the people who got me to watch our favorite shows fall in love with something new, we should probably watch it, but it never seems to sink in. Also, while I'm sort of sad I missed out on the unfolding weekly mystery like I did with Veronica Mars and Dexter S1, I'm selfishly glad that I don't have to, you know, wait each week for the mystery.

Also also, The Office has (successfully?) replaced Jim-Pam-Roy with Holly-Michael-Jan and Dwight-Angela-Andy and possibly even Ryan-Kelly-Darryl, which is sort of a miracle of television.

(Also the third, one time I maybe wrote about Pam and Jim kissing for the first time at a gas station in the rain?)

Oh yay! I hope you like it, I think it's a fantastic cop show. It is really nice to get to marathon it in one big heap -- I've watched s1 so many times, haha.

Yeah, the Office has done a REALLY nice job with throwing the shipping around to different pairings. Good WORK, guys. I was shipping Michael/Holly and Ryan/Kelly and Dwight/Angela like a MOFO.

It is a super good show! I'm so glad that season 2 is finally here, it feels like I've had to wait for DECADES since I got into it in March.

Yes, it has been a super long wait, made more so by just how good it is to begin with ( ... )

The whole two sides of the same coin thing; illustrating Charlie's need to be seen, to connect and Reese's need to kind of disappear a bit.Hmmm, that's interesting, I can sort of see that. Though at the same time, I feel like Charlie uses his random girls to avoid really connecting with anybody, even though the show portrays it as, like, a sexy celebration of life (which is what I resent about the portrayals -- that Dani banging random dudes is a symptom of her damage, while Charlie's banging random ladies is just charming and life-affirming, the way people always take men's and women's promiscuity differently). It's like when Charlie turned down Connie, even though he really clearly is attracted to her, if not in love with her -- because he's too messed up over the Jennifer thing to be in an actual relationship ( ... )

Neither my husband nor I could remember why they needed a new boss. Where did Calamity Jane go?

I adore this show as well. It really grabbed me and shook me like a wetr terrier. I was surprised because the first few episodes were really formulaic and I was getting bored with the "Charlie tells the entire LA Police force that they are wrong about a suspect who looks exceedingly guilty, and he ends up being right" thing.

I don't think they ever explained why they needed a new boss! HUMPH. I MISS CALAMITY JANE.

I know, isn't the show great? I feel like episodes 8-11 of last season really just took it to a PLACE OF AWESOMENESS as they really got into their stride. I'm crossing my fingers they keep it going in s2!
