I have nothing but squeeful love for Studio 60, but this line of yours I seriously don't understand, though, how a straight, white, rich, successful, acclaimed male TV writer feels SO OPPRESSED by the Man or whatever. Geez. made me laugh out loud. It's funny because it's true.

Hee, that's cool you like it. But seriously! Doesn't Sorkin remember how he won, like, a kajillion Emmys for the West Wing? Who is this mysterious force keeping him down? It makes me feel like he wears a tinfoil hat so the men can't hear his thoughts.

My thoughts exactly on tonight's episode (two out of three so far ain't bad), my thoughts exactly on JK fangirls (though their constant, constant, constant perving is still worse than the Pam-bashing), and mad props for your choice of music, miss. Maaaaaad props.

Karen's little paperclip explosion at the end won me over to her. That whole "grenade" sequence was perfect, supercute, and even better for the angry howling of a million fangirls that followed it.

Dude, the paperclip thing was ADORABLE. I am totally on the Karen train. (Shh, don't tell kyrafic.)

Total unspoilered spec, but didn't she say her husband, a cop got killed.

For some reason, I saw her as what might happen to Olivia, should she and Elliot get together, then Elliot gets killed. Olivia might be a little nutty too.

Anyway, I am actually very excited for this arc with new-blonde-partner-chick...

Am also surprisingly underwhelmed by Studio 60.

Have you checked out Friday Night Lights yet? I tuned in for the high school boys, but the writing surprised me in a good way.

Er,that is all.

Yeah, she did say that about her husband! Which is a pretty great and totally new backstory! (Plus, being from Denmark? Uh, that's cool, I guess.) And man, Olivia's totally already nutty, but yeah, whatshername's brand of crazy is totally understandable based on that. (I REALLY liked how the show had her really not wanting to talk to victims, so that it felt like a big deal when she finally did at the end, but how they did it REALLY SUBTLY. What SHOW is this?)

I really had big hopes for Studio 60 after the first episode, but blaaaaah.

I haven't watched Friday Night Lights - it's good? Maybe I'll have to check it out.

Friday Night Lights is seriously, unexpectely good. And well done. And some sharp writing. And Texas football boys praying before a game without irony. And ... yeah. Seriously, give it a try. I'm so not a sports person, but so far this season, it's my new shiny.

JIM IS NOT A PERFECT SPECIMEN OF MANHOOD. HE IS ALSO NOT OBJECTIVELY HOT. HE HAS A GOOD HAIRCUT THAT COMPENSATES FOR VERY UNFORTUNATE FACIAL FEATURES

Word. J Kras has big ears and a big nose. He's just lucky that the non-haircut makes it work.

Dwight knowing where Jan gets all her clothes is pretty freaking awesome.

Jan and my mom go to the same stores.

it's Weepy McPantystealer versus Hoodie McOverzealot

Yeah, it's funny how the wings of hair on the side of his head sort of manage to balance it out. I mean, he's totally adorable and cute once you get to know him, but he is nooooo leading man, objectively.

I was really surprised, actually - I thought Jan would go to places more upscale than that! I kind of love her even more now.

he should really, I don't know, MEET a Christian,

Ahahaha, SERIOUSLY. Apparently there is a real I am not aware of that says Christian have to mention God every 5.3 seconds, and also that God loves them and hates everyone else, and that they're going to Heaven and you're going to hell. All of which is basically to say, act like the OPPOSITE of every Christian I have ever met!

Plus, man, I seriously don't get why every single individual character on that show is a self-righteous and bitter old crank. That's ... not really interesting or likable!

Finally: OH, George Michael.

Dude, I was all ready to like Harriet, but then the God thing is her one schtick and it is weird and tedious. I am a Christian, and somehow I often go DAYS, even WEEKS without mentioning this fact. I BET THEY'LL EXCOMMUNICATE ME REALLY SOON.

Yeah, I don't understand why they're all so angry, all the time. It's just really unpleasant to watch. Like, focus groups outrage them? Maybe they shouldn't be in television, then. (I like how Sorkin's position on bloggers, and focus groups, and whatnot, seems to be that no one is allowed to have an opinion on anything except HIM, the ACCREDITED, EMPLOYED WHITE MAN.)

You think Alia Shawkat ever goes to Michael Cera's shows?

I'm sure she does. I bet they are BEST FRIENDS and sit around reminiscing all the time about how great it was to be cousins who liked to make out!
