Fic rec

Found myself going through RurouniHime's skyhawke account today and guh. She's got one of the most beautiful and gutwrenchingly angsty stories I've read in a long, long time. It just feels so sadly authentic, like they're an actual real couple with the kinds of problems and misunderstandings and unreachability that real couples go through.

Ru consistently writes the most achingly honest and authentic portrayals of Harry and Draco that I have ever read. She frequently makes me cry, and it's not always because of sadness. Her works are beautiful. If you haven't read them already, read Disintegrate and The Arrangement. Both are wonderful examples of her magnificent style and storytelling talents.

Well if its an mpreg and you like it and she wrote it, I better go star reading it. Because I don't have enough WIP's to confuse with each other.

and you are right, and this "It just feels so sadly authentic, like they're an actual real couple with the kinds of problems and misunderstandings and unreachability that real couples go through." is what makes them so heartbreaking and cry-worthy.

Thanks for the recs! But... Does Harry or Draco die in any of those fics? I'm already having a bad day, I don't think I can handle that...
(The summeries aren't very informative)

No, they don't die. But the Under Fingertips series and the Downpour series are not finished yet. But I don't think either one of them will die in either one of those stories. She is fantastic at conveying hopefulness even when the relationship is going through very rocky times. Read Disintegrate and The Arrangement. They are both one shots (although there is now a sequel to The Arrangement called One Night in August. But the first story can stand on its own.) Especially go read Disintegrate. It's one of my favorite H/D fics in all of fandom.

WOW.

Words cannot express. Thank you so much for saying such nice things about my work. It really was exactly what I needed tonight, and you have been so nice... Thank you, thank you. You've just rendered me speechless.

You make them seem like real people, and not just characters from a children's book. I love to read smut and fluff as much as anyone, but your stories make me feel. (You write great smut, too!)
I'm very glad to have provided you with some pleasure in return.

You're very welcome. They're just beautiful stories.

...and yet after all that, I haven't commented on skyhawke - yet. I'm sorry. You've got so much there that's just so yummy.

Can I just say though, that the description of the baby in the last chapter of Under Fingertips just blew me away? Not a perfect vision of cherubic cute, but totally real, blotchiness and all :) :) :)
