Ember to Ember DVD Extra for August 5

Jul 28, 2008 14:18

OK, here is DVD Extra for scrtkpr, frantic_mice, tree00faery, and jessiflash. Because scrtkpr asked for "Draco's interview under Veritaserum, DYING to see that." And the rest said ditto :)

This bit takes place the day Draco was arrested, when the four of them went to Brigid's Cross, the Dublin equivalent of Diagon Alley.

Hope you like it!

ETA: Forgot to say, this is completely unbeta'd, so ( Read more... )

volunteers, ember to ember, fic, dvd extra

Oh, so good! You explored just every possibility for embarrassment and revelation - such a thorough job. I love the addition of the second part where veritaserum wore off and Draco's snark and sarcasm slowly bubbled to surface. It comes as a lovely balance to the first part's veritaserum induced flatness of speech.

"Who was your first friend?"

"Dobby."

My heart went to Draco in so many different places, but the idea of this, just awww...

LOL you know, it's hard to write Draco without snark! It's always nice to be able to drop back into normal!Draco, sarcasm and all.

I'm sorry, this was wonderful, but this is still the most heart-wrenching scene ever written. The one where Draco is arrested, I mean. So this helps, actually. But I know what comes next in the original story, and it is just so hard. Clearly I must adjust medication levels.... I can't believe I'm feeling weepy. Something about people struggling to hold on to their dignity, when everyone else seems to want to debase them for juvenile reasons such as revenge. Honestly. Well, thanks much for this Extra!

Always the right tone! You make us experiment injustice like no one else.

Like everybody else I felt for Draco. I wish Flint or other corrupted officials should get to answer for their acts.

I think you caught something that is even scarier than evil: people who don't question if their acts liken them to their loathed enemies, convinced that they are on the right side.
Surely even Fred Weasley himself can't accept that it is for such an interrogation to take place that he fought and lost so much! Yeah, I know, I'm still there. I understand your characters motivation, but it makes me react. You are a powerful writer! ;-)

Ok, so now that you made us go through the episode of a decent man being ripped of his basic rights, do you think we are entitled to Harry and Draco's reconciliation? I know you wouldn't make it mushy.

Yeah, would be nice... but unlikely :(

Yeah, I worked with quite a few of them, many many years ago. Am starting to think maybe I haven't yet worked out my 'issues' with them ;)

Heh - not sure about the mush, but that scene is on the agenda :) :)

Yeah!!!!
It would also be interesting to witness how Draco is there to support Harry and help the wounded kids after the accident.
