A Truth Universally Acknowledged

I finally read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. And. It's. Awsome!!! I mean not even the BBCs' miniseries do it complete justice. Mr. Darcy is just... you know... YEY! *giggles*

Speaking of the TV version, which Mr.Darcy do you like better - Colin Firth or Matthew Macfadyen? I'll go with Colin Firth coz he "was" mr. Darcy to me till about a year ( Read more... )

*pokes her tongue at you, the book nerd, because I read P&P AGES ago.*

Did I tell you I'm about to finish the first part of "it"? It's not as scary as I thought and it's great.

Now go read!

I knew you would like it! I though it was very scary coz it was like my first childhood trauma... :)

Elizabeth is an amazing character, she is after all the main character in the book and her view of the world and Darcy are what makes the story so compelling.
However, I prefer Darcy for obvious reasons! *giggle*

Yeah she is amazing... I just find it interesting that whenever I talk about P&P (be it movie/miniseries/book) we always end up just discussing Darcy. Always. :)

Definitely my favourite book of all time! It's one I can read over and over.

As for Darcy, Colin through and through. I think he just owned that part. He had smouldering down to a fine art, and nothing can beat the scene where he walks back to Pemberley from the lake, dripping wet, and finds himself face to face with Elizabeth.

I Looove P&P 1995. It's Colin Firth all the way for me! I thought he was darker and suited the book better! )))I love Matthew too though, I think he's quite good.

Let me tell you, I absolutely love Count of Monte Cristo. Don't watch any adaptations, just read the book. It's gripping, the guy is so sexy ))hehe. I think this was the first book I ever like reading and then realized how much fun reading can be )))

I haven't watched any adaptation yet. My sister wouldn't let me. She read MonteCristo a while ago and totally loved it, The Three Musketeers also (that is one of her all time favorites, actually - she loves Dumas).

I usually try if I can to read the book first - and then watch the adaptation.

Book is, of course, always better. ;)

Yay! I'm glad you finished P&P! I agree, I really really liked it when I first read it! (Hmmm...I should totally read it again this summer!)

I haven't seen the whole TV version with Colin Firth, so I can't really say which TV Darcy I like better (I saw part of it once, and for some reason the TV station wasn't showing the whole thing-weird! I was quite disappointed actually)...

Count of Monte Cristo sounds interesting...I know I've seen part of one of the movies.(Hmmm...somehow I've seen parts of a lot of things...This is what happens when I channel change) ;)

I'd love to hear what you think when you finish! :D
Happy reading!
