I don't know if I could ship them as long term partners, usually I like my ships to have similar values but different issues and Tony and Loki's issues are a bit too similar? But I think they could have a whirlwind mad scientist-magician romance (I'd read that any day) and then decide they work better as friends and come out of the affair with a renewed sense of worth and better understanding of themselves.

I think that Loki/Tony!friendship would be amazing (and they could have fun flirting with each other and making everyone's heads explode) and they could build stuff and be cranky over coffee in the morning. :D

yeah. I see that Tony's kinda like a proto-Loki. A techical genius and a mischief maker. And Loki's a quantum leap above him. And together they could just learn and grow. You're right, though, they'd need a guiding light.
