Ha!- I had a slice of fruit cake on my desk earlier today...isn't English fruit cake the yummiest? Even tesco's gluten-free variety is just soooo good!

LOL, this was from Tesco's too - not the gf kind though. It's funny, both Bobby and I loathed fruit cake until just a few years ago - we refused to have a fruitcake at our wedding, even, to our parents' horror; now we both love it.

The English stuff is totally different from the American stuff, IMO. American fruitcake is so heay and stodgy and has gross things in it like green cherries, whilst English fruicake is light and sweet and doesn't have anything visibly unnatural in it! :D

I don't think I ever saw any fruitcake when we were in the states! I remember my MIL was going crazy at Christmas time last year when she was trying to bake her usual Christmas cake and couldn't find any of the ingredients she wanted - I think it was marzipan icing that was hard to get hold of, except in tiny overpriced quantities.

i looove apple sausages, but i get the chicken & apple ones. none in the fridge now, though, because I eat them up. :)

the hot sauce sounds yummy!
