Rome does sound amazing, it's funny how i always come back home exhausted after a holiday, one would assume you would be more relaxed. well if i were you i would buy a couple of energy supplements and absorb in as much as i possibly can. what is your favourite thing you have done so far?

I've been technically 'on holiday' for about 9 weeks now and I really am exhausted and it's more a mental exhaustion than a physical one (physically I'm fitter than I've ever been in my life)

My favourite thing I think was the ruins by the colosseum. History seems to be around every corner here

One of my favourite places in Rome didn't have the crowds. It was the little church of San Clemente, about 400m or so uphill from the Colosseum. You enter into a twelfth century building, and then can go downstairs to see excavations that have revealed previous buildings on the site. Mind you, it is now several years since I went there, but it is too small to have big bus crowds, so it is probably quite quiet still.

I think the hardest part of the camino is finishing and making the transition back to real life.. so many decisions to make after weeks of just walking talking eating and sleeping. It can be a very jarring experience. K

I've been home now for nearly four months and still haven't adjusted completely to 'real life'. Hard to see the point in some of the things we make ourselves race around and do after having had months of such a simple rhythmical lifestyle. But maybe that discomfort is a 'good thing'! Good luck!
