I'm just going to link to
Val's LJ because she has a good clear shot of the surprise letter and photo Jensen's brother and sister-in-law sent out to the fans who donated to the
Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas in honor of Jensen's nephew Levi. I got mine yesterday. What a lovely and generous thing for the Ackles family to do. Reason #182 why I can't

I am keeping good thoughts so TGC will get her field studies spot.
Trying to get used to the new phone with its ability to text and get e-mail and all. It is a learning curve.
Glad you liked Dance for the Dead. Think he has about 3 more books based on that character. Does have other books as well and just finished reading one and have another I got at a used book store. Did read Hunger Games and gave a huge aaarrrggghhh at the end cause to me it left you hanging until the next book. And you know how I feel about that!
Talk with you soon.

IKR, it's not the kind of thing you expect for a donation. That's the point, you don't expect anything other than the feeling of doing something good. His brother and sister-in-law were probably overwhelmed by the donations. I think their initial goal was to raise $100. Once fandom jumped in they raised $19,000. ;)

Oh, good, so not too many to have to go back and catch up with. ;)
As for Hunger Games, yeah, you gotta remember that is a series, like all those YA books are anymore. I assume the movie is left on a bit of a cliffie too. ;)

I am sorry Easter is not a nice time for you, but you are totally entitled to feel this way. Just take some time for yourself, if you can :)
*hugs you*

Though things might be looking up on a fannish level, what with the announcement that Gamble is stepping down/was pushed out, and Jeremy Carver coming back in to try and save SPN. It's like an Easter miracle! LOL!
But, yeah, on a personal note, it's not a happy time. {{hugs}}

ber a great deal about them. The Prime, I remember as being darker than the film but I would have to read it again to remember.

Hm, you may be right. I think I'd qualify the story as less sympathetic in terms of the portrayal of Jean, but that's because the movie showed a lot more of Jean's pov played so marvelously by Maggie Smith, whereas in the book you get the pov of everyone else outside of Jean. So in that regard, yeah, a little darker.
In Tiffany's I definitely felt a lot less to no sympathy for Holly. She wasn't quite as likeable in the prose as she is in the movie. Of course, I do wish they'd had the guts back then to portray a bisexual "Fred" the way he is in the book, and gone less with the love story.
