What I'm watching this week

I hope all the daddies - be you one or have one - had a happy Father's Day yesterday. The Spousal Unit just wanted to take it easy, so we did except for a quick sojourn to BJ's, the first warehouse store I've ever joined only because I finally cashed in one of those "two free months" coupons I'm always getting in the mail - and the store happens to ( Read more... )

father's day, the killing, outcasts, game of thrones, supernatural, falling skies

I'm not ready for SPN to come back yet, so I'm not going to comment on the SPN items in this entry. LOL

I watched Falling Skies last night and it reminded me so much of Jericho that it made me a little sad.

It was bothering me last night why the one guy, the "bad" guy who kidnapped Noah Wylie's character, looked so familiar, so I checked out imdb and he played Major Paul Davis on SG-1. Good lord, he looks different with the long hair and beard.

Yeah, everyone is twittering and posting about the return date for SPN, and I'm all like, please no, it's too soon. ;)

Yeah, he's super familiar - Colin Cunningham - and I had to look him up too. He's appeared in quite a few things I've seen, and I would have pegged him for a Canuck given that he's performed in projects mostly filmed in Canada. But I guess he was born in LA.

At first I was figuring his character would be killed at the end of the second episode, but the previews make it clear he sticks around for a while. Should be interesting.

And you're right, it's got a bit of a Jericho feel to it.

I liked FS. It was like many other shows about post-apoc world and very similar to Jeremiah but i missed a good scifi show on my screen and they have Noah ;)
Also i didn't mind at all of them starting *in the middle* it's usual way of showing things in this kind of shows and i kind of like it. Def will watch more.

Yeah, gatorpez likened it to Jericho, but now that you mention Jeremiah (which was a much better show), IA, it's a lot more like that.

The premiere posted good ratings on Sunday night. We'll see if it manages to keep the viewers.

Yeah i saw her post :) I watched about 1.5 eps of Jericho and stopped because it was lame for me (no offence to its fans) but i like Jeremiah even if it was predictable (what isn't these days anyway?). It still delivered a good stories and great atmosphere.

I'm dumb and can't understand where and how to check for ratings so maybe you'll add them to your future posts if you'll make some about FS? It'd be appreciated ;)

Alas, I'll probably tune into the premiere of SPN, just to see how they get around the godstiel problem of Castiel (much like they did when Lucifer rose, I'd bet, probably right into Chuck's living room). I can't say I'm looking forward to it; I can say I'm dreading it. Like a crash you can see coming, but you want to keep looking so the debris doesn't fall on you. Can you you tell I drive a lot of highway and have seen wrecks? Yep. That's what SPN has become to me.

Oh, that line that was cut from the draft of "The End"!!! We all knew it, but it would have been nice for Castiel to actually SAY IT ON SCREEN.

I don't know if I'd be comfortable with the huge Dean 'n' Castiel pillows :D On my wall, though...that's doable. I used to have a wall-size poster of Andre Agassi in my dorm room. :D

To dread it would be giving the show more credit than it deserves anymore. I'm just ambivalent since I assume it's going to suck. I really don't believe this show has the drive or talent anymore, and I hate that certain actors are wasting their time when they should be doing other things by now. Still, I'd like the show to end on an upturn - but I just don't see how that's going to happen with the staff they have and the BTS politics that are still in place.

I think I'd prefer them as huggable pillows than on my walls - that way I could hide them when company showed up. LOL! Plus, it's the only way I'd ever get those guys in my bed. *waggle-waggle*

Oh, SPN will suck; there's no getting around that. I know it's terrible, but I hope it's cancelled mid-season, just so Actors can go about getting new gigs that will hopefully improve and appreciate their talents.

Oy :D I don't care about company showing up -- because no one does! I'm tempted to put up my pr0n pics I bought at cons - the lovely Suze Lovett pieces that are languishing in my autograph book.

Hm. What would I do with life-size Dean and Castiel...besides watching them with each other, of course!

LOL! I do that too.

That was supposed to be 'that Sera Gamble was besotted with'.)

It's well-known common knowledge that she's in love with Padalecki and his character of "Sam". In fact, many fans started referring to her as "Becky" for the character of rabid Sam!girl Becky who showed up twice in season five.

Funny thing, though, is how Gamble spent the entire sixth season trying to turn "Sam" into "Dean", which failed miserably.

Well I have recorded Falling Skies and will watch it soon, but my racketball buddie had the same reaction you did about the place the show started. Kind of glad I recorded it now. Also happy I didn't start watching The Killing if everyone is down on the ending.
Loved the cut out line from The End. Now that was a bit I would have loved to see included. Can just see Misha saying that.
Sounds as if you and the family had a nice Father's day. Pork chops on the barbie are always of the good. Will talk later.

Hey, I hope you're doing well today. I'll call you over the weekend!

Also happy I didn't start watching The Killing if everyone is down on the ending.

After watching it, I'm not as down on it as I thought I'd be - helped to go in prepared. And it also helps that the series was renewed for another season.

I completely see him saying it! I'm just going to pretend line was in there because it makes so much sense anyway. ;)
