STAR WARS vs SUPERNATURAL genre weekend

May 16, 2010 19:20

Hey, if you ever get a chance to see the Star Wars symphony concert when it hits your town, go! We hit the Saturday matinee of this program with old pals from The Spousal Unit's work domain, and it was glorious and we enjoyed it a lot. Capped off the afternoon at a downtown restaurant for eats. All in all, a nice relaxing time and a brief respite ( Read more... )

Word to your entire post. I too found this to be the weakest season finale to date, which surprised me considering this was Kripke's own "Swan Song." The whole thing was so anti-climactic and cliched; a far cry from the "edge of your set" finales of past years. And I agree that the S6 renewal is most likely responsible for both Dean becoming a passive participant and losing his previous ties to the mytharc ( ... )

I'm also okay with Dean finding some peace with Lisa: the poor boy is honoring Sam's final request (heck, Sam shacked up with a demon after Dean died; at least Lisa's human!)

Wow, you know, that's really true - I don't really remember all the fans who are droning on and on about Dean/Lisa saying squat about Sam shacking up with an all too obviously duplicitous Ruby, or they defended it because he was so broken and lonely, blah, blah, blah. Hypocrisy!

I also agree with you about Bobby. Heck, I almost stood up and cheered hearing that Dean didn't see Bobby for a very long time. Sweet! ;)

Time to start fresh, Sera, and give Dean an important arc of his own (and no, being Sam's brother or Lisa's boyfriend doesn't count.)

From your lips! Right now I'm not confident - I hope when they return, the writing proves me wrong. I'm sure I'll tune in if for no other reason than Jensen seems excited, and I'm his fan. I just hope he doesn't get screwed again.

Thanks for responding! :D

Sounds like the Star Wars symphony was a big hit. Don't know if it is scheduled here or it could have been here while I was away. If it comes I will look into it.
Wow, you did a thorough job of dissecting the last episode. I'm just on the periphery so I didn't give that much thought to it. Just glad they brough Cas back. Sure hope he is in more next season. Like you said, his and Dean's story may have originally been connected. I am also trying to remember what season and episode Lisa and Ben appeared. Have only seen each episode once so don't remember all of them.
Read that Jensen got married this weekend. Hope they stay 'happily ever after'.

Lisa and Ben first appeared in the second episode of season three, The Kids Are Alright, and then Dean dreamed of Lisa again in that same season in Dream a Little Dream of Me when he and Sam were trying to dream-walk in Bobby's head.

From the press release at yesterday's CW upfronts presentation, Misha was still being listed as a regular - and the sixth season set-up in that same press release makes it easy for Castiel to pop in and out, so I'm confident he will be part of the season. Supposedly he is in the first two scripts of the new season.

Truer words have not been spoken. I second your thoughts concerning the season finale. It was extremely disappointing!

Some speculate in the changing being caused by the renewal of season 6. - I wonder also if JP`s breakdown has something to do with the change. - Unless someone from "behind sets" denies this, I will continue to suspect this also meant something. Especially since Kripke himself flew to V. to talk to JP. I wish I knew what they were talking about!

- And yes, I am a bit angry still, due to all the wonderful , yet wasted opportunities.

And yes, I am a bit angry still, due to all the wonderful , yet wasted opportunities.I know, I'm still bitter too, and just gobsmacked by the sheer waste of opportunity and at how they threw away at least two years of story line, if not more. Let's be honest, at this point Dean never really needed to go to Hell ( ... )

And this is what makes it so hard! I mean on one hand there is Jensen - the most talented (and likable) actor I have ever come across - and then there is Jared, whom I have come to really dislike!

So, for me to keep watching this show, altering between an actor I care about, and one I don`t... oh...the stress.

- Perhaps, I could get someone to record it for me and edit away JP. I mean I only watch for Jensen - not for the plot anymore! - Heh.. what plot, anyway..
