I can't even talk about politics as it makes my blood pressure go up to dangerous levels, and health care is too fucking expensive for me. (grin)

Have a wonderful time in Sarasota!

I hear you! I can't even read the paper or watch the news anymore. It's too upsetting and, like you, not good for my BP.

Really looking forward to a short get-away! :D

What the House passed on Sunday was the Senate bill that passed back in December. The members of the House only agreed to pass it on the promise that the Senate would pass "fixes" the House wanted to the Senate bill, to make it look more like the House bill that was passed last summer. The fixes have to be passed by both houses now, I believe. It will have to pass the Senate in reconciliation because there aren't 60 votes to pass it. But bottom line is that Obama can sign the original legislation passed by the Senate now. What we are hoping for is that the fixes are also passed...

That's how I think it's going down, anyway. :)

Wait, I just read the revisions were already passed by the House and the Senate will start debate on them this afternoon.

Okay, so that means, what? If the Senate is debating, then they still have to approve, right, even though Obama is signing the Bill at 11:15 this morning?

Oy, I'm confused! ;)

You have the perfect icon for the situation. LOL!

Yes, the Senate still has to vote. Reid swears he's got the votes to pass the revisions but I don't trust the Senate one iota.

HOLY! HELL! I didn't know anything about Nurse Jackie, so I looked it up. Merritt Wever plays Zoe! I adore Merritt Wever! She's one of those actors you see pop up in guest roles all over the place, and she always diverts my attention from whoever is in the scene with her. She's amazing. I can't believe she's in a series now and I didn't know! Bad fan!!

Next Tuesday night V returns in the 10 pm hour - opposite Justified and Southland (Oy!).

You're kidding, right? Boy, it's too bad there aren't more days in a week, or hours in a night, huh?

Made hotel reservations for the weekend of April 16-18 in Sarasota for vala3 and I to ride down and visit with ezust, and shop and eat and walk on the gulf beach, and have a good time in general.

Eee! Sangria and sunscreen, here we come!

Isn't she adorable! She's my favorite character in the show, and I know I was talking about it last year when the first season aired. *ahem* ;)

In terms of writing, it's actually a good show, really along the lines of their tough chick sitcoms, like Weeds, United States of Tara, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and apparently they've got a new one coming up in April (I think) with Laura Linney that I just saw advertised last night! Showtime seems to be the go-to for chick-coms and chick-dramedies right now - it's their signature thing all of a sudden - so good for them.

But, again, my big problem with Nurse Jackie is Nurse Jackie! Edie Falco is excellent, of course, but her character is really not a likable person. A good nurse, but her private life and too gruff attitude makes her look very bad.

Totally pissed that V is coming back in what is starting to look like one of the most crowded hours of the week. When the hell did that happen?!?

It annoys me that this was one of those shows I looked forward to the most before it premiered - and it disappointed so much. Seems to happen that way a lot.

Given the falling ratings and behind the scenes showrunner exits, I predict it won't come back for a second season anyway.

Since I am about as political as an ardvaark, I didn't really follow all the confusing and conflicting angles placed on th bill by all parties. Somewhere under there, hopefully the uninsured will recieve some help.
Haven't seen Nurse Jackie, Flash Forward or V and none of them really appealed to me anyway. As I said the only new show I have caught lately was the first episode of Justified which I did enjoy.
Got the hotel confirmation from Sarasota, so I am already looking up places down there. Have asked my friend up the street for a few recommendations since she visits family there frequently. Shall I chill some champagne to bring. Have to find the pink kind huh?

Honestly, not if the Republicans can help it, and they've vowed to pretty much gut it in the Senate if they can. So I think people are counting their chickens right now.

Absolutely chill some champagne, and it doesn't have to be pink! Maybe we can pick up some OJ and make mimosas. :)
