So I didn't get back to this as quickly as I wanted to - thus, we've got even more than a few days/weeks late/dollars short commentary about a few of my fannishly favorite things. And it isn't even all that special. Just a few things rattling around in my empty head.

That three-part season three finale of DOCTOR WHO )

Everything you said about the DW finale - right on! Except maybe I could have done without the Smeagol-Doctor. Got kind of tired of that effect. Plus it was creepy. Other than that, everything - especially everything to do with The Master - was FTW! :D
As for Torchwood, it's funny, ezust had sent me disks months ago of the eps she d/l'd, and I couldn't for the life of me get into it. Thought it was awful. I have no idea why I decided to try and watch again now that it's playing on BBCA. It's not that I think it's much better, but maybe I'm feeling not as critical since everyone and their sister isn't squee'ing all over it everywhere on my flist, so I'm not dealing with the fannish adoration, for one thing. It's just a Saturday night popcorn show, and on that scale, it works for me. Plus, Barrowman is pretty ( ... )

Plucked form another comment:
(which we'll have to wait a year on, I guess)
Oh, thank you thank you thank you!! Knowing I don't have to be confronted with new Torchwood for an entire year (because I realize I have to watch it for the casting spoilers, as painful as it may be) fills me with glee and relief. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it better than you expected. Unfortunately, everything I found unwatchable the first time through feels even more unfathomable when I try to re-watch ( ... )

Yeah, I wish someone had warned me about the dog thing. I would have begged off that episode - though there were a couple of cute Chase minutes that were pretty priceless. Not worth the doggie death, though. *sigh*
I really really loved the final three, but was dismayed to see so much cut from the US airing.
Interesting! I still haven't watched the disks you sent me, so I'm assuming all that deleted stuff is on those disks? Think I'll try and squeeze those in some time this weekend. Makes me wonder how much has been cut out of the rest of the episodes the entire season.
In a by-the-way, Verizon now offers the Illusion channel on-demand, and they have a place-holder up for "Classic Doctor Who." I may finally be able to watch the earlier Doctors in logical, convenient way!
Wheeeeeee! I'll be waiting to ( ... )

I can't stand her already.
I like Kal Penn, though.
And having Carmen on was sort of too good to be true.
One upside you didn't mention was that Chase was the hottest thing ever now that he's got his distance from House.

I do too, though I can't stand his character anymore than any of the others. Though if they want all the newbies to be unlikable, then they're doing an excellent job there. ;)

OMG, he really, really is! I did say how I loved the way he stood up to House in the hallway (and too in the OR observation room the week before); but, yes, you're right, it's also done wonders for more than his attitude. LOL!

Normally I'm ambivalent about Cameron and Foreman, but at this point, I'd take them over the newbies. Though I find CTB (Dudek) the most interesting, and Old Fraud at least the most likable. Problem is, of course, we know they won't be sticking around, so no point getting attached, which is why it's all kind of a waste of time.
I do like that it's obvious how House does miss his old cottages, though. I'm waiting to see how they're going to make the "old guys" earn their paychecks later in the season. Gotta start showing up as more than cameos at some point.
