Entourage has been incredibly disappointing this season. Ugh.
I don't know what they were thinking this season. And I lost track of the number of dropped balls. Did they get a new staff of writers, or what? It's like they weren't even trying, or something. Disappointing indeed.
Conchords got a second season?? Amazing. It hasn't even shown in NZ yet, but from what I've heard about the show, I thought it had a snowball's chance in hell of doing well in the US. I've seen their live show and I love them, but they're so very very Kiwi that I didn't think it would translate. It's nice that Bret is finally more famous as a Conchord than as Figwit:).

LOL! I know, I was a little surprised myself, I have to be honest. I mean, I think it's cute, don't get me wrong, but it's an acquired taste for an American audience, and I'd think would have more of a cult following than anything. And I think it has some critical buzz too.
But I'm guessing it doesn't cost HBO much to air, and they need another half-hour show to pair up with Entourage. So, yup, they renewed it. ;)
And while it looks like Eric was right all along about Billy and Medellin, it was frustrating to see him constantly backing down the entire season finale when he finally had a chance to stand up for himself again so that at the end he'd be the last man standing tall and true.
Yeah, vastly disappointed here. It was a painful, unentertaining season to sit through, and the only part that kept my attention was Eric's development, only to see all of it pissed away when it counted.
We'll have to agree to disagree about this season of Big Love. I've reached the point where I can't find anything redeeming about anyone anymore, and that's usually where I draw the line between being challenged and entertained, and sticking it out because I feel obligated. I might be up for a Big Widows version of this show, but it'd take a lot of retcon for me to find a place where I like these women even without the vile Bill around. ;)

Admittedly, while I wanted to throttle just about everyone at times this season, what's really kept me on the edge of my seat is the Tarantino-esque/Lynch'ian clan war/raids/arrests story lines, all based on RL clans and events. Learning more about the Henrickson/Grant backstory has fascinated me too, and seeing Bill evolving into his Corleone-like destiny as the once and future Prophet of Juniper Creek (as I'm sure is the end game of the series) I admit also piques my interest. :)
