2008: A Year Of Fic In Review

Dec 27, 2008 22:34

I shouldn't be wasting time, I should be writing! Except that my brain feels like mush, and I don't feel like I can do any real writing because of this. So, it's time to procrastinate with year-end wrapping up memes...

... I have no idea I missed so much of your fics. I mean, obviously I don't read much fic these days, but I'd thought at least I'd know of them. Well.

I should see if I can't catch up sometime ;-)

*hearts* I'm not surprised, though--you've been so busy with uni. *hug*

...I'd no idea that ALL of your Dragons fics were from this year. ♥ (*goes to reread a couple*)

All I can say is, I'll really, really miss these if you do decide to pull out of fandom. :P

I got turned onto Temeraire myself this year, so yes. ^_^ It feels like such a long time ago, though! But. You re-read my Dragons fics! O_o I'd no idea you liked them that much! *wibbles, loves all over you* ♥ I shall have to do my best for the one I still owe you. ^_^

*giggles* I'd almost forgotten about the one you have yet to write. (And, if I'm ever again in a position to ask for fic from you, what I ask for is going to be very predictable. ♥)

Hi Ai, did you include your TenipuriXP fics? I assume they are written by you? They're good :-) Just out of interest, what's happening with TenipuriXP?

Fan of your fics who doesn't have LJ yet, aka Shirley

Hey Shirley,

I actually don't consider Tenipuri XP to be fic, because they're roleplay. But oh, thank you--I'll pass the message on to my co-RPers. <3

Hi, I came here from your other fandom journal. So you have 2 journals for fandom, this and Aiwritingfic? Wouldn't it be easier if you just had one? I can't seem to tell the difference between these two.

I know what you mean about the brain being mush. It happens to me a lot.

*chuckle* That was back when I actually used aiwritingfic as the main account for everything (including RL). I decided I needed somewhere to dump the translations and meta, but I didn't want to post that on apples_for_me. (I also wanted to break away from fandom using aiwritingfic in fandom, but I ended up doing things differently...)

I know it sounds confusing, so here:

aiwritingfic - fandom journal for posting anime thoughts, fics, and moderating.
apples_for_me - fic community and other fanwork (mostly creative/original)
ann_applecore - translations and random meta pertaining to characterization and story.

(Replying to part of the comment you made on the other journal!)

LJ does indeed let you keep multiple accounts! Logging in and out can be a pain in the neck, though, which is why I tell people to friend certain journals (so I can read their posts).

Meta is basically discussion about fandom. Ship manifestos, essays on why PoT is cool, that sort of thing--they're meta. Compare that to fic and fanart, which is NOT meta.

That's good if LJ lets you have multiple accounts, especially with the same e-mail. It's good you can keep track of all the accounts.

What exactly is meta?
