Lawyer recommendation needed

Oct 05, 2007 17:28

I am in a situation with my condo association and their management firm. They say I owe past due assessment and fees. I disputed this and sent them and their attorneys information within the thirty day period via certified mail, without any response from them. Yes, I kept all that. Yesterday I was served papers that they’re planning on foreclosing.

At this point, I think an attorney would be a very good thing, but so far, all the ones I’ve found work only for the associations or don't do foreclosures. My "favorite" was one who said he didn't want to “argue with other attorneys” and said he'd help me declare bankruptcy, which is extreme!

Any recommendations for an attorney who practices in DeKalb, and would charge on a sliding scale? My income is low, but it doesn’t qualify for Legal Aid.
