The problem is I have no idea just how much force two snakes full of muscles can create, especially when they use moment of the handy branch... and I have no idea if the glass walls can take that kind of pressure on top of them. The thing doesn't even have any frame, it's pure glass (a former aquarium) except for the lid (which is basically a mosquito net stretched across a wooden frame).
I'm still kind of freaked but I'm also pretty sure they can't get through the tapes, at least not now that those still haven't been removed even once. I'm hoping my darling can figure out some kind of metal solution, though, something that's sturdy enough to withstand the snakes but still easily opened from the outside. The problem comes from the glass walls (which is why there is no such system to start with), we need to get some stuff that can attach metal to glass in a way that really keeps it there no matter what. I'm thinking there's a visit to a hardware store in our near future...

Surely something heavy would be okay though, though wouldn't be able to shift it enough for it to fall in, would they?
