You're right, JFK & LBJ were in it up to their eyeballs, and it's my fault for not knowing enough about Korea to include it in my rants.
Both of those wars, though, were before I came of age politically speaking (though I remember Nixon declaring an end to Vietnam when I was a tweener) and so while it sure looks like I'm just giving Dems a pass, the problem really is that I can only write competently, or with personal passion, about the wars I witnessed: those from the days of Reagan on. :(
I missed more than half of the 20th century, though I am (as of the day you left the note above!) a half-century old myself. Yeeesh.
But you'll think better of me, maybe, when I start kicking Obama's ass about his willingness to continue some of the unconstitutional behavior of the B43 Administration, such as the dubious application of a "state secrets privilege" and his willingness to even consider the illegal "military tribunals" to try the people in Gitmo, Baghram, etc ( ... )
