Criminal Minds: Apparently, Criminal Minds is good again but I can't find the motivation to get the episodes to catch up.
The Professionals: Ouch, there are some truly fugly clothes and hideous cars in the episodes. Was the 70's really that dreary?

From what I recall... yeah, pretty much. ;)
I think that's one reason there's been so many shows from the 70s remade in one way or another. Not just to use the nostalgia as a potential draw, but to erase the imagery of the 70s that many now find problematic for various reasons.
That's why I was amused when there was originally talk of rebooting Battlestar Galactica, and even when it was on the air, a lot of people slammed the original based on how it looked. They didn't want that show, it was cheesy.
I kept thinking, "People, it was the 70s. The writers might be good, but they (hopefully) can't bring back the 70s."

His intention wasn't a reboot, but a continuation. The same characters, but 30 yahrens later, which would allow for updated clothing, changes in cast, etc. It could also tackle more adult storylines if they wanted, because the original was intended as a "family" show at the time and they didn't have to have that restriction now.
Then I saw bits of the darkity dark shaky cam new one, and could easily dismiss it from the original concept because all they used were some names and imagery. Not my cuppa no matter what they'd called it. Got too sick from the shaky cam.

I've also been rewatching some S2 as it's been on again, and there really hasn't been a great deal of change, though, when it comes to character growth. Things have certainly happened to all of the characters, and several of those things have been what I would call life-changing, but out of all of them the only one who seems to have grown is Reid.
