So, I've been meaning to make this post for a few days now but I wanted to give it awhile to sink in because it's still shocking to me. *munches cookie* This was really interesting! I have seen a few posts (two) on my flist about this before, but neither could explain it like this. :-) It does make sense! How cool. I really hope that despite there's not going to be a vast amount of profit for the pharmaceutical companies, there'lll still be someone or someones who will make this research possible. It would be too much of a crass world if a real potential cure is ignored because of greed.

And please, make more rambly posts of science-y geeky d00m. :-)

I heard about this on Canada AM a few weeks ago and wasn't going to let myself get up hope. But I agree, it is so simple it just may be what we've been looking for. From the rumours I've been hearing, they are looking for money for the research from international sources that aren't stupid as hell, and possibly getting government funding by working it into school programs at U of A. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them!

FIRST OFF. BEST. ICON. EVER.

ANYWAY. Friends and I were discussing this this week and we were quite excited as well. As was my bio teacher. New thing to test her students on, yay!
