A costly mistake

To add to my D70s not working woes, another setback happened when I dropped my USB hard disk on the floor, by mistake. It was behind my purse and while picking it up, I didn't notice the disk behind it (and it's pretty small and compact). flash memory? doesn't that go in a flash? okay just kidding :) how does it work?

Flash memory is the memory used in thumbdrives,ipod Nano, cell phones etc :) it is just a semi conductor chip... no mechanical parts so usually a fall does not damage them.

Hey just a suggestion if u r from bangalore why don't u chk out SP Road. I am sure they would be able to get the data back at a reasonable cost. There is one or two shops there who do repair and recovery.

madam, buy DVDs quickly and back up before something fatal happens! it's like a physical loss :(
