I feel that way about this series, too. I'm actually quite fine with sex scenes in books - loved them when Anita and Jean-Claude got together, and the first of her threesomes were HOT - but Hamilton went over her limit for the entire series, in my opinion. She could never do another sex scene again and I'd be fine ( ... )

What are your thoughts about breaking up the storyline for a sex?

I say this as both a reader and a writer:

Unless you are straight up writing porn for the sake of porn, and the porn is the point of the story, then there better be a freaking point to the sex.

Sex, like a fight scene, or honestly, any scene, should serve the novel by moving the plot forward. It should introduce something, reinforce something, or resolve something ( ... )

Agreed! I love the Anita Blake stories! I love a good romantic or long awaited sex scene in a book... The stories have started to suffer at least in my opinion because of the overflow of mindless sex scenes... why am I going to care about some half-assed and half baked newbie character gettin it on with Anita when he is no different from any other half-assed and half baked newbie character in the series? at least if there was some flirting or atraction rather then he's hot, he has good hair and pretty eyes... for the sake of the story if anita knows she is going to have to feed... then just bring some great person of her past along have a rockin short sex clip and get on with the story!
