Oh man, that was good. Poor Rachel, poor Cassie, poor everybody. =(

I liked how Rachel seemed to know what was going to happen to her when she went to see Cassie -- I don't mean the kiss here, I mean her death -- but couldn't or wouldn't admit it to herself. I don't know if that's what you intended, but it's certainly the feeling I got.

I also like your characterizations of Ellimist and Crayak. You don't much care for them, do you? 'Cause it seems like everyone hates them in your fics, but I kind of like that.

<3 your stuff. Can I put this on the fic site?

(Damn it, you're making me want to pick up my Resurrected!Rachel story again. No, plot bunnies, away, away!

I'm pretty sure it's canon in 54 that Rachel pretty much expected to die - really, how could she not? It was pretty hopeless :-/ But you're right, she didn't want to admit it to herself or anyone else. So I guess it's like...preparing for the worst, but expecting the best? I dunno.

It's not so much that *I* don't like Ellimist or Crayak (okay, I *really* don't like Crayak. But Ellimist is just misguided. ~nods~), but the only time (in my opinion) that Rachel had any sort of respect for Ellimist was between 7 and 13. He was annoying, but he helped out in the end. Then he fucked over Tobias and she wouldn't trust him as far as she could throw him. So since I usually write Rachel, it just *seems* like nobody likes him ;-) Maybe I'll write a pro Ellimist/Crayak fic some day.

And that just came out looking like I was shipping them.

....

Dammit.

and yes, of course you can archive it :-) Where has the site ended up? It's moved a couple of times and I've lost track of it :-(

I think you're probably right about Rachel expecting to die. She and Jake both knew it was coming, it seems like. (You know, as much as I love wondering what Cassie and/or Tobias knew or suspected, I also wonder if Marco or Ax had any knowledge/suspicions of their own...has anyone ever written a fic about that?)

You also make a good point about Rachel really not liking the Ellimist. I never thought of it like that, but you're right, she really doesn't like him -- and the Tobias screw-over was part of it, for sure.

Heehee, Ellimist/Crayak fic = evil. That's so twisted it's excellent.

Here's the new address for the site: http://www.tillerwebdesign.com/efiction. It's not in the best of shape, though, since I haven't been working on it as much as I should be. Uploading all the old stuff is such a pain.

Hm...no, I don't think anyone has.... *That* could be an interesting fic. ~muses~ Unless you wanted to take it.

I have to admit, I didn't come up with that theory until you mentioned how everyone hates the Ellimist, lol. But I'm glad you agree it makes sense.

And amen to updating old stuff being a pain. That's why i gave up on the site after awhile ;-)

This brought back the pain of reading #54 all over again. Good job, in a heart-wrenching sort of way. I think in the end, that's the choice Rachel would have made, even if not romantically - to spend her last night with Cassie.

Also, nice nod to Breakdown.

Wow, I had completely forgotten this fic even existed until getting your comment.

And I'm glad you caught the Breakdown reference. It's the fic that keeps on giving :-)
