Katherine Applegate coming to Washington, DC for the National Book Festival on Saturday!

Sorry I didn't get this notice up here earlier (life has been hectic), but for those in the DC area or who are willing to make a day-trip, Katherine Applegate will be speaking and signing books at this year's National Book Festival on the National Mall on Saturday, September 21 (her husband came to this event last year)! I REALLY want to go (missed seeing Michael Grant last year) but I'm scheduled for work! Going to see if someone will switch a shift with me. But if not, have fun without me!

I went! And I brought friends! And I made friends with the group in line ahead of us which included 5 or 6 kids (it was kind of hard to keep track) and I offered them my old Animorphs books because I really don't have room for them (aside from the ones I got signed, of course), and they accepted so NEW GENERATION OF ANIMORPHS FANS! And I told KAA that her books were partially responsible for my studying bioethics and she was all, "I take sole credit for that, of course LOL" and I managed to hold in my actual squees until we were well out of line but basically it was the best day ever.

Also, I did all of this while wearing pink and carrying a Disney Princess bag. For the win!
