I enjoyed the Skrit Na--it's fun that they're written as the basis for all of our UFO mythology! And think about it...no Skrit Na, none of this series (apart from the HBC and the EC) would have happened!
I kind of wonder why we didn't see more of them. I figured they visited Earth more than once. What if someone had managed to return from their years in an extraterrestrial zoo, trying to warn people about the Yeerks? Or if the Animorphs had tried to get in contact with them instead of with the Andalites directly -- that could actually have been a good filler book, with wacky hijinks as the Animorphs figure out how to figure out what to pay the Skrit Na with. Like the Yeerks' herd of cows from #29.
There definitely should have been wacky hijinks at some point. We get two helmacron books, Atlantis...eans and a buffa-human, but no further appearances from the race that seemed amusing in the two lines they ever got? Hmm.
Canonically, they frequently kidnap humans (and other aliens) to put in their zoos, right? Does this mean there are several humans (and other aliens far from home) trapped on their planet, with no well-meaning Andalite types to take them back home? That's simultaneously kind of awful, and a bit of a plot bunny.
Imagine how Amnesty International reacted to that little revelation.
There must have been groups protesting that kind of thing -- I mean, the Andalites were willing to interfere with the Skrit Na ship, so there's some institutional acknowledgement that it's not okay.
What really terrifies me is not that the people would be physically imprisoned, but that they would be (most likely) utterly unable to communicate, except *maybe* with the other person you're trapped with. Better hope you're stuck with someone with a good imagination.
