I LOVE bean soup! Passionately! Fervently! It is my all time comfort food. Whenever I was sick as a kid, I would eat bean with bacon soup. MMmmmmm...

My mom used to make beans with the ham bone but for some reason it was awful. I used to hate it. I don't know if it was her recipe or if my tastebuds changed. Either is possible. :) I love this soup because it isn't fussy and in its simplicity lives deliciousness!
