SO here's the werewolf I've been working on but I'm not sure I like it. I messed up his hair and looking twice maybe theres too much black? The whole thing was done with a fountain pen and black inkwell so its a bit sketchy sometimes because I'm not too familiar with that tool. Any thoughts or respectful critiques- including "this could be great ( Read more... )

you are right... if he mean his shoulder, that indeed is too thick. I'll work on that bit.

I can't give any INCREDIBLY HELPFUL critiques because I know jack about art, but I will say that something about his snout area is confusing to the eye. Like, is his snout supposed to be protruding, or is it supposed to be about the same place as a human mouth?

Other than that, very cool. I love his hand. Maybe you could add a little more white around the hand though so it is better defined against his body? I'm talking about in the thumb region.

I just discovered- MIRACULOUSLY- that at some point I had purchased white ink so I can take black away, so I can define the white around his hand more. His mouth is regular placed- think, think "American Werewolf in London". Thats sort of the face I was going for.

A couple thoughts on anatomy (in this particular drawing)...

1- it looks like his thumb is in an awkward position, possibly from the angle the hand is drawn at?

2- his ears are... well... cute? Possibly too cute to really fit the rest of him?

LOVE the blood dripping off his fingers, btw. Awesome use of black/white color scheme and suggested lines there.
