I used to have the same problem. XD; Though I lucked out and the first thing someone suggested for that type of thing was a drabble/story that actually already had a huge note of that kind of tension to it, so I was able to expand it decently enough to sexytimez without it distracting from the original concept.

I guess it would depend on how it fit into the story. Something lighthearted could still have its passionate moments, I think. But placement could be tricky, in that case.

I know what you mean about the unfinished one-shots, though. I have a few of those, myself.

I must be the opposite. XD I can't draw that sort of thing to save my life, but I can at least bring myself to write it now. I suppose both must just take some nerve and practice. >>;

lol nah, I know Minnesotans can porn it up just fine, my sis writes a fair plenty and seems unabashed.
But there does seem to be a difference in comfort level when talking about sex between MN and people here in WA, so my friends here tease me for being prudish ^^;

Well... how about you draw the scene first, then write the scene? It seems you're more visual than textual. *shrugs* I don't know... don't listen to me. I mean what I know? I can't write or draw. -_- *jealous*

well its not that I can't imagine what the scene would look like, its just that it never seems appropriate to add to the story.

I think everyone starts out with certain hang-ups about writing porn. It's, um ... something a writer just outgrows. Though reading stories where the sex adds another dimension to the plot tends to help.

Sexytimez scenes don't have to be serious. I remember a Kyoya/Tamaki on aff that was believable and downright silly (what with Tamaki) and also more human than most. I don't know if you're posting this in relation to your Neko/Haru story, as Haruhi tends to be difficult smut IC-ly, but I'd say go for it. The only way past the mental "Eeep, porn!" is through it.

I'm guessing it was also weird the first time you drew two characters in compromising positions, right? But you're not doing either of them a bit of harm. So cut yourself some slack and let your imagination go where it will. *my 2 cents*

you caught me, I *was* thinking of the NekoHaru one ^^; I don't think it would suit the atmosphere, but maybe I'll start slowly and just add in something slightly sexy.

Perhaps start by writing porn with some of your original characters, rather than fanfic? (I have no idea if that'd help any, but I'd love to see you write some Ian porn...)

XD XD XD OH, YOU.
actually, I *did* start an Ocean Blue fic- as Ocean Blue features many characters from RAO, its sort of like an RAO fic, but as pirates. It was IanxLydia (hes slightly less FUCKING INSANE as a pirate). But its only, like... a page an a half long. I couldn't figure out how to continue it.

well he'd have to be a LITTLE insane to be a pirate and all but most of the worst of his "crazy" is stripped away leaving something sort of dark and broody. But I'd get bored fast if I couldn't draw his crazy face SOMETIMES, lol! so he'll probably lose it during fights and maybe when drunk or something, I dunno. The comic is in VERY early stages and we haven't really put as much thought into him yet.
