Obsessive Madness

So my brother convinced me to see the Twilight movie over the winter holiday, and it piqued my interest in the books.  I thought, "Why not?  I'll see what they're all about?"  It was bad for my concentration/focus (lol).  They'll certainly draw you in if you like to read teenage romance.  I read them all obsessively!!  >_<  They are not the ( Read more... )

The movie was sort of fun - I dragged my husband to see it with me and my son. we did laugh at all the wrong moments though, but we enjoyed it nevertheless!)

The books are not bad - they are just not good . You can tell they are not written by a skilled writer, but I guess that was supposed to be the part of the charm. :)

yes, certainly the writing was not the best, but I liked her characters and that was what kept my interest. My husband also got dragged to see the movie; we tried not to laugh sometimes, too. ~_^

I liked Edward (though I imagined him completely different from the movie version)
Bella slightly annoyed me. Even not her character so much but huge problems with characterization. Like in the beginning of the first book, in the first chapter when Bella is talking to her dad on the way home from airport, he tells her that Billy is in a wheelchair. She did not even ask what happened to poor guy. I liked the last book most (yes, I read all of them :) I feel that the book that made so many teens crazy deserves to be read)
If she would ever finish her book from Edward's POV (the one she quit writing) I think that would've been a good one. I could tell she developed much as a writer and her characters are way better with each book. Plus there was a PLOT in the last one too :)
Anyway, I never judge harshly when it comes to teenage books. They do not have to be complicated and mindblowing . Sometimes, it is nice to read silly romance and let your brain relax.
and what is a better way to relax than sympathizing a girl who is in love ( ... )

I would love if she finished Midnight Sun...I think that would be my favorite book, both because Edward is my favorite character and because I like her style of writing his thoughts and experiences (her writing does improve with each book)
Edward is cute in his thoughts and actions (though overbearing at times), so I find him the most fun to read (his limited appearance in the second book is one of the reasons that that is my least favorite book...I'm also not a Jacob fan...lol)
Anyways, yes, it is nice to read silly romance when you need a break from life ^_^
