New!con was new. (i was an attendee, as I am at Detour, Convergence, AI, and ACen.) It had first-year bumps, (loud music, long reg line) and in some cases there was nothing to do. (No one at Friday's panels... because they were all in the line.) But it didn't dissolve mid-way through, so it was a success. I'm going back next year -- in theory it can only get better.
