Heavy Rain is an excellent adventure game that, when held to scrutiny, becomes less the revolution in storytelling it is hyped to be and more an excellent adventure game.
Come for the riveting first play through, stay for the easily farmable trophies. Also, The Taxidermist DLC is probably the scariest thing I've played in a while.
In FFXIII's defense, those first few bites really do taste like a delicious hamburger.

The root supports a whole tree, though. They've pretty much chopped out the whole "game" and left a movie on wheels. Not even a particularly good movie.
I know fanboys have been crying about FF games not being FF games for a few years now, but 13 is not Final Fantasy. At least not to me. If there's no game and a crappy story, it's a hallway simulator.
But, I agree. SMT is great. Strange Journey is a good example of what I'm whining about above: The game doesn't take place in Japan, so they make it a spin-off, despite the fact that it's the most faithful game in the series for a very long time. Whereas Final Fantasy has gotten to the point that if there is a character that features a belt and/or a zipper, it's a Final Fantasy game and GIMME YOUR MONEY.

I never thought FF games were very deep or complex... or even interesting, gameplay wise. That's what Shin Megami games are for :D
