Okay I'm sure we've all noticed certain anime designs. The Gundam Seed/Infinite Ryvius style is quite distinctive, then there's the slightly old-fashioned Marmalade Boy/Kodomo no Omocha style and more modern styles

I like red headed characters - Kyo from Fruits Basket, and the twins from Host Club, Shin from Gokusen in particular :)
an attractive character is most excellent.
I like the ones that look kind of cartoony, but not "beautiful". It took me a while to get used to the Gokusen one (the characters are defintiely NOT pretty). Some drawing styles make it harder to get into - for example, Cromartie High is HILARIOUS but the art is a little off putting. I think those are the ones that you need to give a proper chance before you say you don't like them.
also, can anyone start a topic? I was king of under the impression it was only the maintainers, but I may be wrong.
Oh if you have a topic please post! hayley_beth24's the only non-mod to post a topic and they are open to all - everyone can post!! It's just hard getting people started so I post every chance I get to keep us up-to-date, while you all get ideas brewing...
I love the character designs that Kyoto animation does (Haruhi, Kanon, Full Metal Panic Fumofuu(or however that's spelled)) and Yoshitoshi abe (lain, haibane renme etc) his art is fantastic in an indescribable way, take a look at the lain art book and you'll see what I mean. Also I love clamp, their artwork has always been beautiful (especially with chobits and ccs) but I lovelovelove the detail in tsubasa and xxxholic (well, the mangas anyway, the detail kinda gets lost in the transition to anime) and though I , like everyone was ashamed of the production on Higurashi no Naku koro ni, I love the way they did the eyes when the characters go crazy. Also Shin Takashi's artwork on Saikano. I think that's it.
I'd love to get stuck into more artbooks and manga, ut it's a sad fact that the anime's just more available in UK and I never seem to know where to start with manga - I do love the different styles though and CLAMP's always good. I remember there being uproar at one stage because everyone hated the blurry bleach-style. It can get annoying but didn't bother me that much. wouldn't mind seeing lain though that looks cool...
I like artwork that is more believable. I really dont like the ones that look too mcuh like cartoons. (even tho they all are!) More realisic designs I prefer but if the story line grabs me I dont care if the animation is crap. (*couch*searching for a fullmoon anime...*cough*)
