I don't wash my eggs because I trust that the way that I am cooking them is going to be hot enought to kill any germs. I eat most of my vegetables raw, so I am more concerned with washing them.

A while back, someone pointed out what a chicken egg REALLY IS...

AFter that, EVERYTIME I eat eggs with friends, I always say "Mmmmmmm chicken '.'"

this is a very good point, however most people cook eggs (you really shouldn't be eating them raw anyway) so that would kill any germs that could be on them. Fruits and veggies are typically eaten raw or only lightly cooked (and well frankly, you can't cook away dirt). What's more amazing is that there are some people who will cut their meat/poultry on a cutting board and then just lightly rinse or wipe it off to cut or chop their fruits and vegetables (that they washed so well before cutting) thereby contaminating them with the germs from the meat.

Always err on the side of caution. Wash the eggs off!!!!!!
