the Warehouse

Sometimes at work people will refer to "the Warehouse", sometimes in almost mystical tones. This is where old exhibits and artifacts wind up (we were talking today about a Fresnell lens we used to have), all those things we still own (because we never throw anything away) but which for one reason or another no longer see the light of day ( Read more... )

New looks usually become mandatory in time. I like to accept them early so I never am forced.

But Livejournal is special. It has never forced me, and I have never accepted the current format.

We have a warehouse in which we store all our old props, set pieces, costumes, etc. People are terrified of going there - they believ ethe tales in which a boy scout troop went in and never came out. The place is huge and the best way to get around is to saddle the rats and ride...

I considered it job security, if people are afraid of it, then they aren't as likely to go out and mess stuff up. Then I can't find things when I need them...

Hold on to the Fresnel lens - some of them are worth a fortune these days. What instrument was it for?
