The Confidential is always full of people loving the way the Ood faces and tentacles feel. It is SOOO adorable. Also, yeah, I love the dissonance between the Ood politeness and they things they say. I see what your Other One means ( ... )

D'aaaawww Ood. Yes, I love their voices, and the hideous/genteel dissonance as well.

"Somehow, the worst physics always seems to come in episodes with great stories."

...yep! "Evil of the Daleks" I'm looking at you! This is why, although I felt the need to comment on it (particularly given our discussion of Ilya Kuryakin yesterday) it in now way lessened my enjoyment of the episode.

With that said, Aaarggh, on the art department choices. But, hey, I'm willing to forgive a lot under Rule of Cool.

Yeah, that is a frickin huge black hole, all things considered.

It really really did. I knew that guy was gonna be my favorite character.

Okay, so, I have really mixed reactions to Rose in this episode. Basically, for the first third or so, she looks (and to a lesser extent acts) really really high. I mean, her mouth is already huge, and she already smiles waaaaay more than a sane person does (which is quite endearing, really), but she was doing weird stuff with it (her mouth, that is) and then there was "Welcome to Hell - ( ... )

We learn to forgive a lot on this show... Also, I just have a pet peeve about bad mechanics of things that a person can observe on this normal world. It's easier to forgive bad science in space than bad science of the everyday.

...I suspect many things about the beginning of the episode, all coming down to her and the Doctor laughing about the very idea of leaving because the place seems dangerous. Seriously, they landed and the TARDIS sounded wrong, but they knew there was no question at all: they were going to stay anyway. I think all the laughter at the beginning was effectively bracing for impact.

I like the idea of her being Talks to Help. Let us make more code names!

Susan: Screams For Grandfather
Barbara: Objects to Execution
Jaime: Fearsome Battle Cry
Sarah Jane: Gets Hypnotized Often (I was going to make her Upholds Womens Lib, but she sort of stopped that once she was comfortable)
Grace: Gets Away with Malpractice

Oh, I seriously missed the TARDIS sounding wrong. Wow. Hmmm...

HAHAHAHA. Oh man, your codenames crack me up. Poor Sarah Jane. YES on Grace though. That scene makes me angrier every time I see it.

Zoe might be Talks to Computers. You know what a fun game might be? Making a list of epithets and seeing if we can figure out who they're supposed to be.

Blows Stuff Up
Loses Shoes

...I really wanted to say "loses shoeses"...
