I'm really sorry if this vote is inaccurate in advance...you know that I never saw past the first series (and I didn't care much for most of the cast, haha *fails*)...and I'm not familiar with the manga, so this is kind of difficult, lolz. O_O; Still, I think I'm kind of torn between William T. Spears and Lau for you...but leaning more towards William T. Spears from what I remember of him and his description here (oddly enough, they were two of the characters I remember liking the most, haha!)! If I'm recalling William correctly, he helps others and his friends...but he doesn't necessarily like a lot of people. He can be cynical, but seems to have an idealistic approach to his job. William can be pretty blunt and he strikes me as being pretty "self-made" in his profession. The INTJ description seems to work for him as a whole despite his not always been the most quiet introvert either. Your Positive Traits in particular strike me as fitting William really well (analytical, independent, calm-minded, clever, curious, "humorous

Anyway, my vote's for Undertaker. I can see some Spears, but I think he's too stoic and lawful for you? Undertaker is distinctly independent and definitely different, and given he sort of likes anatomical dissections I'm pretty sure there's a fair amount of curiosity there. He's sort of this mix of fairly... intense and laid-back, because he likes being amused and will openly ask people to amuse him, but he does give that creepy, mysterious, secretive and intense impression at first because of his looks and the way he dresses. I'd also peg him as intelligent and analytical, too. Given his job, I can also see him having a nihilistic outlook, as well. He's capable of helping, but not exactly the sort of person one would run to for help first, and I'd definitely classify him under Chaotic Neutral.
I can see some Lau, Undertaker and Bardroy. I remember Lau as quite clever and intelligent but based on the descriptions online, it seems my impression was somewhat wrong? Or rather, I didn't remember him as oblivious which I don't think you are either. While Undertaker gives off a somewhat similar vibe as you do, I haven't really seen him get much depth. It might be because I only watched the anime and read one art but... He does have a touch of mystery around him but haven't seen anything more about him than we can see in the anime. Bardroy generally seems more laid-back. In the end I will go with Joker, after all. While I don't think he fits perfectly, I think he shares a mix of your traits. I wouldn't say you put on a cheerful facade, and I think you would notice things a little faster than he did. I think the views on him may vary greatly depending on one's perspective so I am sorry if I sound a little...weird. I would describe him as quite independent, despite him following one person, he is more of the guy to get things done

Gah, I'm torn for you, truthfully (it doesn't really help much that I don't remember a lot of the first anime and haven't really been exposed to the second series or the manga). I can see ALL of the votes and character mentions you've gotten so far, and I apologize in advance for adding yet another character to the mix as for some reason I keep wanting to vote Bardroy for you (which may or may not have to do with him being one of the characters I remember the most from the anime and rather liked...what? XD).
Bardroy can be seemingly contradictory or random to others (given his propensity towards having all manner of weaponry on hand and using flame-throwers for food preparation). He's more cynical than he sometimes lets on given his past and former role in the army, but he can be very idealistic and passionate towards causes that he cares deeply for. He enjoys helping friends, but doesn't necessarily seem to get along well with a whole lot of other people. "I've been called easy-going + intense, reckless + planned, among other

I don't think voting for yet another character would help much (and the one I was thinking of the most was the one you asked not to get either way LOL), haha, so from the ones that have already recieved votes I was thinking that Joker fits the most! Although I do think Bardroy is an excellent suggestion, as well, I just think you two give off slightly different vibes, perhaps? Anyway, back to Joker; while I definitely don't think you come off as a clown or overly cheerful, I do think you'd be able to act the part if you felt the need to. Joker strikes me as someone who's analytical, independent, calm-minded (or else he wouldn't be able to put up an act, and he doesn't give in to emotions easily, either), clever, open-minded, curious, secretive, devious. I was thinking he probably has a dark sense of humor, too, just that most people surrounding him understand that? He has his ideals, but he knows what's realistic, he's cynical/introverted/a background leader, too. I would say that enjoys certain types of conflict, but loathes others
