With just the right spices, crow doesn't taste half bad...

So I finally marathoned all the Hobbit flicks. As a result:

1. I think I'm finally going to take the plunge and check out Sherlock because Martin Freeman is an amazing actor. Maybe. Probably.

2. I discovered that I might be willing to get down with a dragon as long as it has Benedict Cumberbatch's voice. (This would greatly amuse bloody_winged for reasons ( Read more... )

Sherlock is good in the first season. It starts going downhill after that. I pretend season/series 2 and 3 didn't really happen. Basically, Moffat fucked up, like usual. The first season and the unaired pilot are great and definitely watch them, even give the other two seasons a go, but don't get your hopes up.~Sophia

I've been hearing the same thing from others, too. It's too bad. But thanks for the heads up!

Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are amazing when they can actually play off each other. Season one - great. Season two - still good, with some issues, mostly with the portrayal of Irene Adler. Season three - Second Hand Embarrassment the Series. It's not bad, it's still quite good in places, still worth watching for the characters. But oh my god. I wanted to cringe through the couch. But yes, check out Sherlock. It's only 3 episodes per season.

I don't understand how it can even be considered a season if there are only three episodes. Are they super long episodes?

They're 90-min. episodes - I don't watch enough from the BBC to know how common a formant that is. The only other thing I've seen like that (3 90s) was only one "season" and considered a miniseries.

That damn fic has haunted me all these years. I think it was the first time that I ended up liking something I said I would never like. :P

I'm doing great! How about you?

Haha, don't take it too hard - Dragon!Heero is just too lovable <3 He is such an awesome perv xD I'm just sad that I never managed to get you into the rest of GW...

Overall, life has the tendency to suck in intervals as usual, but I guess I'm still alive and kicking^^ Getting better and better at all the stuff that doesn't matter (like League of Legends xD) and still not getting anything really useful done (like writing xD) Though to be fair, if I would finally combine the two of them (there are waaaaaaay too many yaoi potentials there XD Some of those gamers are way too hot for their own good, and the way they interact with each other.... >.>) I might actually get something done... Hm, that's something to consider... ;D

I still haven't watched any of the Hobbit movies. I love the LOTR movies and I love Martin and Benedict but I just don't know if I want to watch the Hobbit ones. I know I will at some point but they're not high on my 'to-do' list (it is too full of everything else I need to do) :)

You should rate your incest exception list too, that could be amusing :P

I probably wouldn't have watched them at all if Jeremy hadn't watched Five Armies. It caught my attention enough to go ahead and check them all out. If you don't expect anywhere near the quality of LotR in terms of storytelling, then you might enjoy them. (Seriously, wtf were they thinking stretching one book into THREE MOVIES?!)

You say that like I haven't ranked them already. :P

An incest exception list of ten? Sounds more like an incest is best list at that rate.

The quality went down in S3 of Sherlock.

LOL! I'm still clinging to my denial.

I have yet to hear a good thing about season three. That's a shame.

It's not all bad, but it's certainly not what the first two seasons were.
