I don't read teh comix, but this movie looks like it will be cool. I just saw a preview for it last night at Frost/Nixon and it looked very tingly to my toesies.

Is it going to be as cool as it looks?

I don't have a freaking clue WTF this whole "Watchmen" thing is about. I look forward to checking it out. If it is not Joss Whedon then I'm a bit clueless these days.

From the screenshots, and the clips, side-by-side comparisons of the movie to the book, and the hope I hold in my little black heart, I think it is going to melt your face with fabulosity.

I don't know if you *need* to read the book first, but (as is always the case) I don't think they'll be able to fit everything from the book into the movie. I'll try to sum up...

Costumed heroics started as a small time, local vigilante type situation, then got more showbiz. Then they got their asses shut down by teh Fedz. Nixon is on his... third or fourth term, technology is waaaay advanced because of the one super-hero on Earth, and everything is going to shit.

Yeah. I think that'll do.

I'd so go to the movies with you if I still lived in Tucson. The husband and I plan on going to see the movie when it comes out.

I'll be at the midnight showing, but not at Harkins. Aaaaaaand...you're welcome.

i'm excited, we'll be going to the IMAX but we may not go to a midnight showing. a group outing sounds awesome but i'm fairly certain that new york is not so close to where you live...

i personally hate the 12:01 showing because if people know about am and pm they know that 12:00 is actually the beginning of the day not 12:01.

But that way it's TOTALLY LEGAL! If they start playing at 11:59, the studio can totally destroy the theatre.

FUN.

what about the 15 minutes of trailers? and who says that their clock isn't 2 minutes off? what about the stupid clothing stores who make coupons that start at 12:01 but expire at 11:59?

it's insanity and it's because of this grown people will say something like "don't you mean am?" when you till them it's 12 pm.

I'm not saying it's sane. It just helps avoid legal tomfoolery. ^_^

And... yes... People like that make my O_o face happen. It hurts like burning.
