Thanks and good luck to Brad -- can't wait to see what you do next. And a big hearty fuck-you to rumormongers who stir shit up just to demoralize people who do good work. If you don't have enough drama in your life, go make something that millions of people think is valuable.

I just am trying to bring SOME measure of common sense to fandom, seeing as I am part of fandom. There's been so much screaming, running in circles, and random flailing that all of the points are going missing.
We've discussed before what needs to be done, from your end. I know these things don't happen overnight. (Then again, I've worked in corporations. So reality is not unknown to me!)
That Valleywag person really gets my goat. He's like...Perez Hilton for the tech industry. Who cares if it's true, if it makes good copy, publish it!
hmm. Your cooking tag looks extremely large and prevelant over there. I think I'm going to explore it :)

Well, the thing is, LJ is popular because of its customers. If other people weren't here, LJ would be useless. I came because of other people...they make LJ worth it. Not LJ in and of itself. So, in a way, those people causing drama, right or wrong, are creating something others think is valuable.
And yes, I'm a paid user. I've spent a great deal of money on LJ over the years. And I think that gives me, as a paying customer, a right to not care for the way things are being handled. Not that I agree with the way others are showing their disapproval. But, it comes from anger over the way things are being handled. If people felt they were being heard, they'd have no reason to harass a man that has nothing to do with the mess, in a time which should be celebrated.

LJ is cutting off it's nose to spite it's face.
