I've been flipping through a bunch of quilting books lately (my mom's been working on a quilt) and a book on Amish quilting in particular caught my interest. I really like those last two! I like ones where you play with the white space more, ones like the first one feel busier than I prefer (though it is still good).

i can see that. the white space gives your eye some breathing room so to speak. perhaps that's what i picked up on in the second one, and worked from there.
