Noun + Adjective = Metaphor. Who knew?

This entry started out going nowhere, then went on a search to find somewhere to go, but ended right back at the beginning of nowhere, and in the end didn't actually go anywhere at all. It should have stayed in bed, but since it made the fruitless journey and went to all that trouble and put forth all that effort, I'll post it here just to record

Not a comment on nouns modifying adjectives, but...

I just bought a hair straightener last week! I got my hair cut again, and this new style really requires "stick straight" hair, so I went over to Sally's Beauty supply and bought the one the guy recommended. (plus it had the things my internet research said to look for, and it was on sale, and I got a free travel makeup bag! --> though I didn't know that until after I made the purchase. Score!)

What kind did you get? What was the price range? What are the key things to look for??? I must know. I don't trust my "scientific research methods" anymore, so I'll rely on yours.
