Looking through archives, I stumbled upon this "year in review" survey that I filled out in 2004. I enjoyed reading it, so I thought I might enjoy reading one for 2007 in 2010 if I filled it out again.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Bought a car in Mexico.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I think it was to be more active, which I think I've done, if not in the way I expected.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.
5. What countries did you visit?
Mexico, Maine. Both were great for different reasons. Both start with "M" and have and "i" and and "e" in their name.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Results.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why (optional)
November 15th-16th.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finding my way and myself in Mexico for nearly 4 months.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Probably that I didn't get into Stanford, but I'm grateful for that at this point.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My lower back gave me all sorts of problems.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
my gocco. Prisma Color Pens and other fine line colored pens. Wacom tablet. one-way plane ticket to Mex. Gold VW Golf. shiny dark green high heeled peep toed shoes.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Tante Sigrid. Chucho. Jeanne. my mom. my brothers.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
not sure.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Mexico.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
the direction of my life and my plans. my patterns and drawings. adventure. new ideas. my wiener dogs.

spending time with my dad.

no, i don't do the hate thing.

Feist.

Funny Girl.

I went to Maine and ate Lobster.

bangs. plunging v-sweaters. layers. color. big earrings.

going with the flow. talking with my mom.

I've kind of been hiding from politics this year.

recently, my dad. my dogs while i was in Mexico.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
You have to think positively, because your reality is a direct reflection and manifestation of your thoughts and beliefs.
When trying to learn to speak a different language, just talk, even if it's not 100% grammatically correct. Usually you can at least get the idea across, and what's important is the practice and building confidence.
Sometimes you just have to go and see what happens, even if you don't know what the purpose is, or if there will ever be a purpose to it.
