ust thought I'd mention . . . while I have been known to say that a Conservative government is not as anathema to me as it is to you, I'm still not going to vote for them anytime soon. Harper doesn't scare me as much as he bugs me with his general insincerity and his oh-so-obvious vote-buying. I'm voting NDP.
The only part of that article that I thought might not be such a bad idea was giving more power to the provinces, provided more power also came to Ontario and more money came with it. This was one element of the REform party that I always liked, too. It has its issues - mostly regarding the equalization funding for Atlantic Canada that would possibly suffer for it - but at heart it's not a bad idea.
I think I would be more for that too (I mean, I *am* in Quebec) as more power to the local always has its attractiveness, though i would want to mean the fine print. If it means that the freedom to local repeal things like the gay marriage law and the freedom to just be more like the us in as many ways as a province likes (minimum wage, who needs a minimum wage) then I would be wary.
