Actually I have a book on ancient Egyptian magic that I remember as being quite readable, If you want to borrow. Stay away from teh works of Dr. Budge; the man is truly soporific.

When I was a TA, I had to grade a paper about the Psychology of Leadership where the student used a fictional WWII army general as a resource.

Damn fine paper otherwise.

Fiction by Michael Crichton is also not allowed either, even though he was a medical doctor.

this whole topic makes me very glad that I no longer have to deal with student papers.
