The chickens are really his project, although I will happily take the eggs. Our egg supplier lady is moving out of state(long story, her husband retired and decided to use the extra free time to find a new girlfriend), and had to give away most of her animals. These are just a few of her flock.

She also has ( Read more... )

The teeny kitten was 7 years ago, LOL. Rocky is a big boy.

They are still shy around us since we are strangers. But we have bags of chicken treats to tame them with, haha.

Enjoy the eggs! The hens and rooster are very pretty.

LOL at the rooster crowing at the end! They have a great run to live in - it looks really secure and safe for them.

The chicken area is still a work in progress. It has not been used in 10 years and we did not have enough time to do much except clean it out. New door for the coop and bird netting for the top is coming on Amazon!

My dad used to tell me that when rooster crowed like that, he was yelling, "I screwed a chicken." I still think about that whenever I hear one crow. :P

It fun how they flock to the rooster for protection in a new place.

I wish I was closer. I'd take the poor puss. It's probably for the best that I'm not.

We had an old yellow cat (Growltiger) that was 38 pounds. Vet used to joke that if he got any bigger, we would have to take him to a large animal vet.

If I had the room I would probably adopt the cat myself. But 6 cats is already more than enough for our small house. This cat also spent 7 years as an only cat, so I don't know how he will do with our cat army. We have a pretty good balance of personalities right now and everybody gets along.

Considering that I am still trying to get Tina and Trouble to make nice, I can understand your concern.

It is not an easy thing to get all the cats to get along!
