My dad had bought a copy when he was in the Navy, just after he got back from 'Nam. He gave it to me when we were going through some of his old pictures. Said that the photographer got the feel of the place and the normalcy of the insanity of war there. So I read through it and I felt 'there'. I wanted to do the same, take a time or place or moment and capture it, so that others could live it too, for bad or good. I guess it's all a part of my history thing. A way to touch the past and make it 'real'.
