Aw, I missed that you posted a week ago! I've been wondering where you went.

I spent an outrageous amount of time thinking and talking about the first five books in the Harry Potter series, and writing about them at my comfy computer desk, with all the books in both US and UK versions always within reach, constantly referring to them, thumbing through them, and typing out quotes to support my arguments. During that time period I knew the books so well I could instantly find any scene, description, or bit of dialogue.

Are there any ongoing arguments in the HP world right now that I'm missing?Fandom is helluva different. Liking canon is practically verboten, at least on LJ. (Although LJ was always a little sparse when it came to fandom love. I guess Sugar Quill and similar sites existed for a reason, yes?) There's also far more controversy, with JKR defending Johnny Depp. Which even I have to admit was a poor decision

I know! I was really upset about that, though I had to admit to myself that there's no way I'll be able to refrain from watching the next Fantastic Beasts movie in protest. I haven't liked his portrayal of Gellert Grindelwald so far, either.

I also find myself unable to get rid of my old Depp icons, but I rationalize that those are from BEFORE.

I came across this post when I was looking for something else I knew you had written. You could try Quora, there are a few ardent H/Hrs over there that are still convinced JKR simply wrote herself into a corner that she couldn't get out of regarding romance. They also discuss a lot of other Harry related issues as well, but I just get the romance notifications because they make me laugh.
