I also wondered whether Rowling had found that she herself had married her "Harry" in the long run, and her perspectives on relationships had changed. Ron and Hermione can be bickery at times, and I don't think it's "cute". But I always assumed the bickering was because they were kids, and they were uncertain where they stood with one another, and that it would tone down as they were adults.
