Yeah, that was me on the current icon. *grin*

And I agree with you on just about everything. I would've loved to see some Bellatrix.

I thought he stuck well to the central thrust of the novel (hint: "Voldemort comes back to life" not "Hermione kisses Harry on the cheek").
::snicker::

"Who am I, Hedwig?"
Don't forget. "What am I?"

I much prefer Gambon's Dumbledore. Except for that weird yelling at Harry bit.. o.O Which was just odd and strange.

And I love the soundtrack. :D

Me too! I found Harris's Dumbledore to be too bland. Gambon's Dumbledore, well, I can see a kid thinking he's really cool.

As far as the rest of the movie, I really liked it, much more than I did PoA. No Super!Hermione. Though, when Harry asked about the Dark Mark at the QWC I knew it was going to be Hermione who explained what it was.

As she does in the book too! I liked Hermione in this one, she was more canon-like and Emma did a fine job!

When we had Harris, I was very unsatisfied with his low-energy, low-intensity way of playing Dumbledore. But I think besides that, he played him right. Gambon has the energy and power, but he doesn't have the whimsy, the wisdom, the self-control, the sudden mood changes, the compelling voice, the cool audacity... he's just not Dumbledore! Though I did think he was closer in PoA (at Buckbeaks execution, for instance) than he was in GoF.

The only performance I was actively unhappy with is unfortunately a huge one -- Michael Gambon as Dumbledore.

I'll agree with that one. When he grabbed Harry after his name came out...come on. That is NOT Dumbledore. Less shouting, man!

I also wanted to see Snape go off on the Sekrit Mission, and was rather surprised that wasn't included. I mean...it's KIND of important...

I thought Ralph Fiennes was ok. Not horrible, not wonderful, but he did an adequate job.

I prefer Gambon as Dumbledore mostly because I think he has a little more spunk and no so much "old man" to him. Dumbledore is old but not decrepit.

I did have a WTF moment when he started talking about not liking the curtains. What did that mean? That's probably a writer/director problem, though.
