I feel you. Although I have an opposite but similar problem of his surname being the same as one of my RL friends which breaks my brain a bit.

Gah I hate that! I went to an all-girls school for high school back in the day and lord, every single girl first name has a face attached to it. It's been long enough now that the association is lost, but yeah. I feel ya.

GOD. YES.

I desperately want to write AJ/Daniels for what's currently happening in TNA right now, and it's like, no, Wendy is canon now. Like, she technically has been because they've mentioned her before and she's been seen before, but there's now a video package with her and everything, and it's like, I don't even know WHY I care so much about canon. It's not like it's going to make a difference to anyone. But it still bugs me so so much. I don't know how to handwave a spouse for slash that passes my strict standards. -_- WHY AM I SUCH A PERFECTIONIST?

It's completely understandable. You want to be as accurate as humanly possible, and write a fic that makes the most sense. Which is a pain in the butt with a canon as fluid as wrestling!
